Just built a new I7 based desktop, running 64 bit Windows 7 RC, and I'm re-evaluating all my tools. Saw Tinypad mentioned in some comments about an article at the maximumpc site, and your site said it was Windows 7 RC compatible. So I tried it. Twice. Once from CNet, once from tinypad.com (after I figured out that you guys and hotmail don't like each other and I used my gmail account).

My Windows 7 RC is very plain. Not much installed yet. All I did was run Windows Update to get the latest patches. Regardless which download I install, Tinypad installs OK but when I start I get the Tinypad has stopped working dialog box. Restarting machine doesn't change anything. I tried the same download package on my XP Pro machine and it works OK, so it's not the download. Here's the detail that box provides. Let me know what else to try.

Hi,

As of version 2.5, TinyPad has been fully tested with Windows 7.
The error you listed seems to be due to the missing C++ libraries required by TinyPad to run correctly.
Have you installed these components on the new machine? You mentioned that it's a fresh station, which means that you most likely have the components missing (unlike your XP machine, which had those components installed by any other application that requires them).

For the convenience of our users, we have supplied the Visual C++ Redistributable package along with the TinyPad installer. It is found in the packaged zip file under the name "vcredist_x86". Please try to install these components and try to launch TinyPad again (no need to uninstall and re-install). If after you install the C++ components you still get the error, please try to reboot your machine before launching TinyPad again.
